Your Financial Foundation, Built Every Month
We turn your chaotic bank feeds into clear, tax-ready financial statements—without you ever touching a spreadsheet.

Don’t Stress About Your Books
The Problem
You didn’t start a business to become a data-entry clerk. Yet, most Portland business owners spend their weekends trying to remember if that $45 Amazon charge was for office supplies or personal items. This “shoebox method” leads to:
- Missed tax deductions (throwing money away).
- Panic during tax season.
- Zero visibility into whether you are actually making a profit.
We take this off your plate completely.
How it works
Our Process
1
Digital Capture
We set you up with Dext, a simple app for your phone. Buy gas? Take a client to lunch? Just snap a photo of the receipt. The app reads the data, and you throw the paper away. We handle the rest.
2
Bank Feed Reconciliation
We connect your bank accounts to QuickBooks Online. Every week, we categorize your transactions, match them to your receipts, and reconcile the balances to ensure not a dollar is missing.
3
The Monthly “Pulse Check”
By the 10th of every month, you receive a clean set of financial statements. No jargon. Just a clear view of what came in, what went out, and what you kept.
What You Get (The Deliverables)
Audit-Proof Records
Every expense is substantiated with a digital image of the receipt, attached directly to the transaction in QuickBooks.
Local Tax Monitoring
We tag transactions specifically for City of Portland, Metro SHS, and TriMet tax calculations so year-end filing is a breeze.
Profit & Loss (P&L) Statement
See exactly how much money you made last month.

Frequently Asked Questions
My books are currently a mess (or non-existent). Can you help me catch up?
Yes. “Clean-Up” and “Catch-Up” projects are our specialty. If you haven’t touched your books in months (or years), do not panic. I can import your past bank data, categorize historical transactions, and reconcile your accounts to bring you current.
The Result: You will get a complete set of accurate financial statements (Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet) for every missing month, allowing you to file back-taxes without fear.
Do I need to bring physical receipts to you?
No. My practice is 100% digital and paperless. I utilize a modern tech stack to manage your business’s finances securely in the cloud.
How it works: You simply snap a photo of a receipt with an app or forward email invoices to a dedicated address. I handle the filing and matching digitally. This means you have permanent, searchable access to your records without storing shoeboxes of thermal paper receipts that fades over time.
Do I need to register with the City of Portland if I work from home?
Yes. Almost all business activities within Portland city limits require registration. If you are an independent contractor, freelancer, or sole proprietor doing business in Portland—even from a home office—you must register with the City of Portland Revenue Division.
The Exemption: While you must file annually, you may be exempt from paying the Business License Tax if your gross receipts are under $50,000 (City) or $100,000 (Multnomah County). We monitor these thresholds for my clients to ensure compliance.
Do you file my annual tax return (Form 1040/1120S)?
No. We specialize in Bookkeeping, which is the foundation of a successful tax return. Think of it this way: We write the financial story of your business, and your CPA tells that story to the IRS. By hiring Bridgetown Bookkeeping to handle your monthly categorization, reconciliation, and financial reporting, you hand your tax preparer a clean, “audit-ready” package at year-end. This typically saves you money on CPA fees and ensures you maximize your legal deductions.
